The name Beaupre is first found in Normandy and was brought to Britain with the Norman invasion in the 11th Century. The first record to the name in French records is in Normandy in 1670. Early records in the New World include Bail de Beaupre who arrived in Louisiana in 1719 and Jean Baptiste Beaupre who is recorded in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1729. Today there are approximately 2,500 bearers of the name Beaupre in the United States.
